Social Media for Conferences and Events (Workshop)

This session will guide participants through using a range of social media tools to help plan and promote a conference or event – from building a free website which can include a platform for submission of abstracts and conference registration, to creating a space for live tweeting during the conference, to facilitating feedback and engaging with delegates after the event. We will also explore how to source fee-free images for use in your promotional materials, including from the University's own image collections.
Collectively, the facilitators have worked on a total of eight postgraduate conferences/seminar series and will share their experiences of what has worked well.
