Title: RoCK blocks for double covers of symmetric groups
Abstract: Broué's conjecture posits that a block with abelian defect group is derived equivalent to its Brauer correspondent. A RoCK block is even Morita equivalent to its Brauer correspondent. The existence of RoCK blocks is, therefore, fundamental to the study of Broué's conjecture for many classes of blocks of finite groups. In this talk we investigate RoCK blocks for double covers of symmetric groups. The proof that we do indeed have a Morita equivalence very much mirrors that of the corresponding result for the symmetric group, originally proved by Chuang-Kessar. However, there are many interesting differences that greatly complicate the situation and require several different techniques to overcome.
