Colleagues from across the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) are invited to attend the Children’s Health Research Discovery Day.
The event is taking place at the Core Technology Facility, Grafton Street, M13 9WU on Monday 3 November and is open to researchers, clinicians, academics and partners supporting children’s health research.
The event aims to:
• Celebrate ground breaking research aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people
• Explore new discoveries and innovations
• Spark collaboration and future partnerships
• Empower young voices to shape research priorities
Attendees will be able to learn more about Manchester BRC’s strengths in children’s research across areas including Respiratory, Cancer, Mental Health, Hearing Health, Juvenile Arthritis and Rare Conditions.

• Professor Clare Murray, Honorary Consultant in Respiratory Paediatrics at MFT (Respiratory Theme)
• Dr Jenny Humphries, Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist at MFT (Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Disease Theme)
• Professor Simon Jones, Consultant in Paediatric Inherited Metabolic Disease at MFT and Medical Director of the NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (Rare Conditions Theme)
• Dr Rob Harkness, Postdoctoral Research Associate (Rare Conditions Theme)
• Professor Marianne Aznar, Professor of Radiation Oncology Physics at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust (Advanced Radiotherapy Theme)
