Title: Geometry of differentially large fields
Abstract:
Differentially large fields satisfy a property which guarantees that certain systems of differential equations in an arbitrary number of variables have solutions. In this talk, we look at case studies of differential fields for which the differentially large condition has more idiosyncratic descriptions and explore what they can tell us about the general case. In particular, we will learn that it is possible to test for differential largeness using only univariate systems of partial differential equations. Time permitting, we also discuss how the etale-open topology fits into this picture.
