Abstract

In the globalised business landscape, effective communication across cultural boundaries is pivotal, with a particular emphasis on China’s significant role in the global economy. This presentation delves into the critical aspects of intercultural communicative competence required for successful business interactions with Chinese counterparts. Participants will be introduced to linguistic techniques for building rapport, understanding context, and engaging with Chinese business cultures more deeply. The focus is on developing a comprehensive skill set that goes beyond language proficiency to include cultural immersion, respect, and the ability to engage in meaningful business dialogues. This talk is essential for anyone looking to enhance their ability to effectively communicate and do business with China, offering insights into the complex interplay between language, culture, and business practices. It aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools for fostering successful cross-cultural business relationships.
