As part of the Workers' Playtime exhibition programme, Co-operative Heritage Trust Archives join the Rylands for this special collection encounter event. Items selected will focus on club and societies that were part of the Co-operative movement and creative opportunities for their employees. A copy of the Co-op News, an early dialect pamphlet, a poem by Ethel Carnie Holdsworth, photographs and journals will be on display along with Songbooks from the Women's Guild and Youth Movements.
Drop in between 1 - 3pm to meet the Trust's Archivist and in addition, our friendly engagement team will be on hand to guide you through the material.
The Co-operative Heritage Trust looks after the Rochdale Pioneers Museum and the archive which is based in Manchester. Its aims are to make the history of the co-op movement accessible to all.?Their collections cover the history of the British Co-operative Movement in documents, film, photography as well as packaging, advertising and other media.
