The Quatuor Danel join with Richard Whalley for two iconic Sonatas named Kreutzer. The link between these two works comes through Tolstoy, who wrote a novel named after Beethoven's penultimate Violin Sonata; Janá?ek was then in turn inspired by Tolstoy's novel for his String Quartet No. 1
