Thursday Lates: Cornelia Parker: Talk
Cornelia Parker (b. 1956) transforms everyday objects and experiences into extraordinary works of art.
As one of Britain’s most acclaimed artists, she is renowned for Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View (1991), for which she blew up a garden shed and then suspended it and all of its contents mid-explosion, and Transitional Object (PsychoBarn) (2016) which loomed over New York from its position on the roof of the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art. Most recently, Cornelia Parker has been following British politicians on the campaign trail as the Official Election Artist. (Follow her work in progress on Instagram electionartist2017.)
In this lecture, Cornelia Parker will discuss her current practice including Verso (2016), which has been made during her time as Honorary Professor at the University of Manchester.
