Developing proposals for Research for Patient Benefit: A Research Design Service North West seminar
Host: Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences
About the event:
This seminar is one of a series organised by the Research Design Service North West (RDS NW) to highlight national funding opportunities for applied health and social care research. The aim is to give researchers a better understanding of funding priorities, application processes and future plans and an opportunity for dialogue with panel members and successful grant holders.
The Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) programme is a nationally coordinated funding stream for regionally commissioned research. There are 10 regional funding committees to commission local health service research. Budgets are in proportion to the regional population. Individual research projects can last for up to 36 months with a budget of up to £350,000.
The seminar will end with an overview of the support available from the RDS NW, and there will also be an “Ask the Adviser” session from 2 pm to 3 pm – this is an opportunity for seminar attendees to stay and meet local RDS NW advisers and seek individual advice concerning research proposals (either for RfPB or for other national, peer reviewed funding streams).
