This session describes a system for statistical analysis that is comprehensive, mathematically non-technical and compact enough to be learned within the time available to a typical postgraduate student. The following course of lectures and workshops builds upon a generalized framework for representing research questions and research designs using a simple equation-based notation.
This standardized notation enables the identification of appropriate statistical techniques, defines how they can be applied in the statistical software and also how the data should be structured. Statistical output is interpreted using generalized graphical methods that make the task of interpreting and communicating results from a range of techniques much simpler. This course is aimed at all postgraduate students and does not assume any prior statistical or computing knowledge.
