About One World Together
Launched in 2023, One World Together is transforming the landscape of funding for global development, getting more funds, on better terms, to local and community organisations in the UK and globally. As part of this, we’re building a community of like-minded Global Citizens to work towards a more equitable world.
Frustrated at an international aid system marred by deep inequalities that systematically weaken and disempower local communities, co-founders Nicola Banks and Chibwe Masabo Henry designed One World Together as an affordable and radically transparent movement through which engaged Global Citizens can power an equitable and impactful future.
Rather than giving short-term and project-specific funds, One World Together works with trusted organisations in the UK and Africa over the long term, enabling communities to take control of their own destiny. Its innovative model builds financial sustainability through membership and a pool of long-term and unrestricted funding for partners through members’ monthly contributions.
