A Public Affair – Patient centred education and social responsibility
Manchester Medical School is delighted to invite you to ‘A Public Affair – Patient centred education and social responsibility’ an event to celebrate the innovative work of Manchester Medical School in developing the Doubleday Centre for Patient experience, the first establishment to involve patients and the public in the training of doctors.
Affiliates of the Doubleday Centre for Patient Experience will be joined by national speakers from the NHS and Public Health England to consider the importance of patients, carers and service users in influencing change in our healthcare system.
The lecture will feature a welcome address from President and Vice Chancellor Dame Nancy Rothwell who will be joined by:
• Dame Philippa Russell, former Chair of the Government's Standing Commission on Carers;
• Sylvia Lancaster, CEO of the Sophie Lancaster Foundation;
• Professor Charles Alessi, The National Director for Primary Care at Public Health England;
• David McNally, Deputy Director for Patient Experience at NHS England.
This event will celebrate the innovative work of Manchester Medical School in developing the Doubleday Centre for Patient experience to involve patients and the public in the training of doctors.
