This is a course on the FBMH Academic Development Programme, welcome to all colleagues within the Faculty. This session will cover different types of simulation. We will encourage participants to consider how they might be able to incorporate simulation into their own teaching, and the benefits of doing this. However, we will also encourage participants to consider the disadvantages and risks associated with simulation and how they might mitigate these where possible.
Intended Learning Outcomes
- Explain how simulation techniques can be harnessed to enhance teaching and learning.
- Outline the key concepts of simulated learning pedagogy.
- Describe how VR, NLP and motion capture can be utilised in teaching.
- Identify opportunities, barriers and share practicalities around implementing simulation-based learning.
- Generate a plan for implementation of simulated learning approaches within your own workplace setting.
