Join us for our first "International Day of Yoga" celebration event at The University of Manchester (An official UN observance day. Aligning with the University of Manchester's "six ways to wellbeing" we are bringing to you an exciting day of wellbeing activities. This has been organised by the University's new ‘Dharmic cultures’ network in collaboration with the School of Health Sciences "health & wellbeing" champions network.
On Friday 21st June from 10 am to 12 pm, we will be joined by keynote speaker Prof Nawal Prinja (renowned scientist, honorary professor at 4 UK universities and an advocate for several national Dharmic initiatives); Anna Wilding (UoM researcher and yoga instructor) and P?ran?yaka from the Manchester Buddhist Centre who will lead a free meditation session (you can participate whilst seated).
Plus, free yoga taster sessions 2pm or 3pm (on-campus) will be led by a local yoga instructor, Clare (from Iyengar yoga UK). These sessions are optional (duration 45 mins; mats will be provided) – book 1 slot only (optional).
This event is open to University of Manchester staff and PGRs (PhD researchers or researchers/collaborators based in local NHS trusts).
