New opportunities for research, policy and practice?
…where HE meets SE.
From student entrepreneurs to business school research, and from academic collaborations with social enterprises to staff exploring new forms of commercialisation to increase the impact of their work, the social economy is an important area of interest for the Higher Education sector.
The ‘Higher Education and the Social Economy’ seminar is organised by The University of Manchester and the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, www.thersa.org) in partnership with UnLtd (www.unltd.org.uk/). It will bring together researchers, policy makers and practitioners to ask how higher education can contribute to both the development of the social economy sector and what this sector can offer to the agendas of universities. The seminar will be of interest to practitioners, policy makers, students and researchers and will include presentations from leading speakers in the field, opportunities to hear from successful spin out social enterprises and meet colleagues interested in maximising the benefits of where HE meets SE.
The seminar will run on Wednesday, 4 June 2014 from 5.00pm – 6.45pm with opportunity both before and after to see and hear about the work of those involved in social enterprises at the various stalls exhibiting. There is no charge to attend the seminar but please register by following this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/higher-education-and-the-social-economy-public-seminar-tickets-3550089413
