What is the problem, Trump or the United States? American media talk about Trump nonstop, but what about frailties of the US? Are the frailties structural? The headline ‘The White House is undoing 80 years of American Greatness’ (Graff, New York Times 17.8.25) is off beam. What about 80 years of cold war propaganda and bipartisan deception? Is the problem populism or authoritarian conservatism? Is the issue culture, or civilization?
