Talk entitled “Metabolic Control of T Cell Function”.
Short Bio:
Sarah Dimeloe qualified as a pharmacist before completing a PhD in Immunology at King’s College London. She then moved to the University of Basel in Switzerland to undertake post-doctoral research with Professor Christoph Hess. Here, Sarah began to investigate metabolic activity in T cells and how that relates to their important roles in health and disease. In 2017, Sarah received a Birmingham Fellowship to establish her own research group at the University of Birmingham, where she is based in the Institute of Immunology & Immunotherapy. Research in Sarah’s laboratory spans translational projects interrogating dysregulated immune cell metabolism in disease, such as blood cancer (particularly multiple myeloma) and autoimmunity, alongside fundamental projects investigating roles of specific metabolic pathways and enzymes in T cell biology. In 2024 Sarah was awarded a Lister Institute Prize Fellowship.
