This is a course on the FBMH Academic Development Programme, welcome to all colleagues within the Faculty.
Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)
• Identify relevant learning theories (andragogy, behaviourist, constructivist, humanist) utilised within academic and healthcare settings.
• Explain how learning theories are used to underpin and enhance teaching and learning approaches.
• Explain the concept of transformational teaching and learning.
• Identify the 55 core behaviours of transformational educators.
• Critically discuss potential barriers to implementing transformational approaches in practice.
• Propose and consider potential strategies for overcoming such barriers.
• Commit to implementing one new educational theory in your own practice.
