As part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science, Sarah MacQuarrie and Alexandra Hennessey from the Manchester Institute of Education are leading a drop-in event to explore how play, physical activity and engaging with green spaces shape the wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. They will be sharing:
- Practical, research-informed strategies for play, physical activity, and green spaces
- Insights from children and young people’s real experiences
- Latest policy updates and actionable ideas for schools and communities
- Networking with peers across sectors
- Access to a curated online resource after the event
This event is open to all and is of particular interest to:
- Teachers, education professionals (primary, secondary, special)
- Policy professionals in education, health, youth, urban planning
- Practitioners in health, youth work, social care
- Community leaders and advocates for children’s wellbeing
- Anyone supporting children and young people’s wellbeing
You’re welcome to drop in at any time between 4–7pm. However, we kindly recommend arriving during your booked time slot to ensure you have the opportunity to speak directly with Sarah and Alexandra. The stand may become busy at peak times, and sticking to your slot helps us give everyone the time and attention they need.
