Creating inclusive research is key to addressing health inequalities and ensuring that research outcomes are relevant, representative, and transformative. This workshop supports you as a researcher in reflecting on your current practices and developing actionable strategies to embed Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) throughout the research lifecycle.

Intended learning outcomes

  • Reflect on current approach to PPIE and EDI in research
  • Summarise why diverse representation, equal opportunities and cultural awareness in research are important to address health inequalities
  • Consider ways to embed EDI and PPIE in your research Action planning to increase diversity, equal opportunities and cultural competence
  • Learn how to utilise tools including the PPIE Quality Mark and research Equality Impact Assessments to enhance your research
