Music and Drama Collaboration: Composition and Physical Theatre
This concert is part of the Thursday Lates at The Whitworth
For their third project at The University of Manchester, The Vonnegut Collective are joining forces with Animikii Theatre and inviting Masters Composition students to create a performance that explores the sense of ‘touch’ through movement and sound.
Four composers will create individual compositions which will hang within a framework of ‘guided’ improvisation, devised by the whole group. The composers will be encouraged to collaborate with the ensemble, with each other and with their counterparts in the Drama Department.
The result of this Music and Drama collaboration will be an hour-long, continuous work, performed as part of The Whitworth's 'Thursday Lates' series.
A discussion will follow the performance.
