Join us for the Annual Christabel Pankhurst Lecture as our guest speaker, best-selling author and founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, Laura Bates reveals her two-year undercover research into radical online male communities.

Drawing from her acclaimed book ‘Men Who Hate Women’ Laura will expose the hidden communities of incels, men’s rights activists, pickup artists and ‘men going their own way’. Laura will discuss how these groups operate, recruitment and radicalisation techniques and potential interventions for parents, teachers, and law enforcement. This deep dive promised to be eye-opening, fascinating and essential listening to understanding how we begin to combat this unspoken terrorism.

The lecture will be hybrid, those attending online will be send a separate Zoom link closer to the event.

The lecture will run for roughly 45 minutes followed by a Q&A and drinks reception starting at 6.30pm. Online attendees will be able to submit questions via the Zoom chat function and a member of staff will read them to Laura on your behalf.

The Pankhurst Lecture Series honours the legacy of one of history's most influential advocates for gender equality and civil liberties. Each year we aim to inspire discussion and debate on critical issues relating to gender equality, civil liberties, criminal justice, democracy, and humanitarian causes - causes that Christabel Pankhurst dedicated her life to fighting for.
