11am-4pm. In an incredible article published in 1952, Alan Turing suggested that everything from the spots and stripes on animals to the arrangement of pine cones and flowers could be explained by the interactions between two chemicals. Uncover the mystery behind the patterns found in nature and celebrate the first international Fascination of Plants Day with the help of scientists, hands-on plant research and Museum objects. You can get crafty with plant patterns, see how many patterns in nature you can spot around the Museum or watch a family friendly film. You can find out more by visiting our new exhibition - Alan Turing and Life’s Enigma.

Price: Most activities are free and drop-in. Some activities may need to be booked on the day and may cost up to £1.50. All ages
