Manchester University Music Society (MUMS) invites you to their first concert of 2023, featuring two distinctive concerti, both old and new. The concert opens with an exhilarating world premiere of a new concerto by award-winning PhD composer, Cameron Biles-Liddell, which explores tender lyricism and rippling textures brought to life by the flautist, Charlotte Ballard. This is complemented with Richard Strauss’s youthful first horn concerto (feat. Molly Bielecki), full of heroism and luscious romanticism.
