Explore, play and create together with your family this summer holiday at our Summer Studio. Have a go at hands-on creative activities with local artists inspired by three artists from the UK and India in residence in the gallery this August. Try out new art forms with a different activity every week: explore pattern through henna design, weave and wind with textiles and combine drawing and storytelling to create your own unique artworks.
The Summer Studio activities will be running Friday 22 July to Friday 2 September, Monday-Saturdays, 11am-2pm. All activities will be free, drop-in and designed for all ages to take part.
22 July: Henna design with Arry Nessa.
23 July: Dance workshop with Gaya from Equlibrium Arts.
25-28 July: Draw, Write and Weave workshop with Laura-Jane Atkinson.
29 July - 4 August: Henna design with Arry Nessa.
5-11 August: Textile weaving with Aysha Yilmaz.
12-20 August: Built on Stories workshop with Carina Ripley and Ting Waterhouse
19-25 August: Textile portraits with Emma Blackburn.
26 August - 2 September: ‘Stop making sense’ draw, write and express - workshop with Sarah Sanders.
