EPS Teaching & Learning Seminar – Wednesday 24th February 2016, 12:30-2pm in Room E7, Renold Building. Lunch will be provided.
There will be two presentations and a chance for discussion to share good practice.
Dr Tom Rodgers will talk about some of the recent developments undertaken in 1st year Chemical Engineering laboratories, a class of around 300 students. These developments include the creation of pre-lab videos, online marking, and a range of assessment types. Tom will discuss the motivation behind these developments and which have been successful both from an academic and student viewpoint. Thoughts on the direction of future developments will also be discussed.
Prof Keith Brennan from the Faculty of Life Sciences will demonstrate the electronic handbooks and databooks used in their laboratory teaching.
