Maintaining momentum in postgraduate research supervision is key to ensuring timely progress, sustained motivation, and a positive student experience. This workshop equips supervisors with practical strategies to support students in developing critical thinking and strong academic writing, navigating progress reviews, and building peer support networks. It also addresses the complexities of supervising across cultures and at a distance, helping supervisors respond effectively to difference and diversity in the research journey.
This is a course on the Academic Development Programme which is intended for those supervising PGR students.
Intended learning outcomes
- Developing critical thinking and good writing styles
- Writing transfer reports and progress documents
- Supervising cross culturally and at a distance
