Diski’s most recent book, the highly praised travel memoir On Trying to Keep Still, described her journeys in New Zealand, Lapland and the English countryside. Her new novel, Apology for the Woman Writing, is based on the French philosopher Montaigne’s relationship with an ardent fan, who became a surrogate daughter and, ultimately, his editor. This reading will be followed by a Q & A session.
