The Behaviour Change Meeting Group at The University of Manchester has the purpose of bringing together academics and clinicians across several institutes who are working with behaviour change, intervention development and/or implementation theory. We usually meet online on the first Thursday of the month at 3pm, inviting external speakers and internal speakers to discuss and gain feedback on their latest research in the field. We have a range of health and clinical psychologists in the group as well as epidemiologists, nurses and physiotherapists who work with a range of different short-term and long-term conditions in different contexts (public, patient and healthcare professional groups).

If you would like to be added to the email list to hear about future meetings, please contact Rhiannon Hawkes: rhiannon.hawkes@manchester.ac.uk

Our next Behaviour Change Meeting will be held on Thursday 5th June 2025 at 3pm, where we have Dr Emma Norris presenting on ‘Behaviour Change to increase Open Science: Where are we now?’

Dr Emma Norris is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health at Brunel University of London. She is Co-Chair of Brunel's Health Behaviour Change Research Group and Chair of Brunel's Open Research Working Group. She has also Co-Chaired the European Health Psychology Society's Open Science Special Interest Group since 2019. Dr Norris is a researcher in behaviour change and health psychology, exploring evidence synthesis of behaviour change interventions, as well as development and assessment of physical activity, smoking cessation and digital interventions. Before joining Brunel, Dr Norris was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Behaviour Change at University College London working on the Human Behaviour-Change Project: synthesising published literature on behaviour change using machine learning and Artificial Intelligence.
