The new focus on Shared or Social Value creation in both business and the public sector is about lining up social and economic goals in order to advance both. Five years ago Manchester City Football Club partnered with Manchester City Council to ensure that their new football academy in the East of Manchester not only provided the club with a word class training facility, but also provided local businesses with contracts and local people with jobs. In real terms this meant that 80% of the 880 contracts went to local companies and 25% of jobs went to East Manchester. Now The University of Manchester wants to do the same through its big campus regeneration program.
Come along and find out how generating Shared Value works, how you can do it and how you can benefit from it.
