The Dalton Nuclear Institute at The University of Manchester is pleased to announce IGD-TP Geodisposal 2014, a conference on Geodisposal of Radioactive Wastes. The conference is aligned with the Strategic Research Programmes for the Implementation of Deep Geological Disposal of Radioactive Waste in Europe. This conference is a new forum for researchers in this area to present their work to the international community.
The conference will take place from 24th – 26th June 2014 at The University of Manchester, the birthplace of many nuclear scientific discoveries. The conference sessions will cover an array of topics such as the biosphere, geosphere, radionuclide and gas behaviour and societal aspects of geodisposal and will showcase the underpinning science, technology and stakeholder engagement in geological disposal. One aspect of note is the conference aim to engage countries with less advanced programmes by sharing best practice in geological disposal research and implementation.
