A FREE two-day ‘Mundane Methods’ extravaganza taking place at the University of Manchester, Monday 7th & Tuesday 8th November 2016.

As part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2016, this jam-packed event features talks, workshops, discussions and gatherings, all free to attend and open to the public.

Here’s a brief look of what’s taking place:

Monday 7th November 10.00-11.00 – Keynote by Prof. Sue Heath (Sociology and Morgan Centre, UoM) ‘The art of everyday life: urban sketching meets sociology’* 11.30-13.00 – Smellscapes Workshop by Chris Perkins (Geography, UoM) 14.00-15.00 – Material Methods Workshop by Helen Holmes (Sociology, SCI and Morgan Centre, UoM) 15.30-17.30 – Walking Tour, Oxford Road by Steve Millington (Geography, MMU) 17.30-19.30 – Social Gathering ft. Everyday Austerity exhibition*

Tuesday 8th November 10.00-11.30 – Postgrad Lightning Talks (with PGRs from MMU and UoM) 12.00-13.00 – Lessons in Loitering Workshop, by Morag Rose (Urban Studies, University of Sheffield) 14.00-15.00 – Everyday Ethics Workshop, by Sarah Marie Hall (Geography, UoM) 15.30-17.00 – Kitchen Table Discussions * (ft. facilitators from UoM and MMU)
