Scholarly use of social media for impact and visibility

Abstract:

As scholars, much of the impact and visibility we create depends on information sharing and networking. This can be done in different ways, and the actual practices will depend on a number of factors. In any case, it is clear that the role of social media as a tool for engagement, interaction and dissemination has become more important over the years. In this talk, I will discuss my experience with using social media as a scholar to create impact and visibility. I will present some suggestions and frameworks, which colleagues will hopefully find interesting and useful as they start, extend or evaluate their own scholarly use of social media.
