Sustainable Futures would like to invite you to take part in a Deep Listening Experience taking place on Friday 17th July at the Firs.
Led by artist Kathy Hinde, these guided walks offer a unique opportunity to experience Manchester's waterways and green spaces from a different perspective. Using specialist microphones, Kathy will help participants tune in to sounds that often go unnoticed, from the chirps and clicks of underwater life to the hidden sounds within trees and the resonant qualities of the surrounding architecture.
Kathy will be joined by freshwater ecologist Ian Thornhill (PPEM), who will provide insights into the aquatic life and ecosystems that shape these urban environments.
Two walks available:
• 11:00–12:30
• 14:00–15:30
Places are limited, and advance booking is required. Please email keiko.ivinson@manchester.ac.uk stating which session you would like to attend and if you'd like to bring a plus one.
