Representational Similarity Analysis (RSA) is an exciting and a highly influential neuroimaging analysis method. It is prevalent in research in cognitive neuroscience, especially in high impact journals in the field. RSA allows us to go beyond the simple brain mapping question ("what regions of the brain participate in a certain task?") to answer fundamental questions about how information is represented in those brain regions (e.g., by category), and how this representational content differs between brain regions.
A practical, hands-on workshop on this technique will be held on Thursday 13th September for UoM staff and students who use, or plan to use, multivariate modelling methods for the analysis of fMRI and/or EEG datasets. The workshop will include an introduction to RSA, practical demonstrations, a hands-on workshop, and a bring-your-own data clinic.
The workshop is appropriate for academics and PhD students with previous neuroimaging and statistical analysis experience. Participants will need to bring a laptop with Matlab installed. We ask that participants attend the entire day. Places are limited.
