This event is part of CIDRAL's regular Theory Intensives series.
Dr Fabio Camilletti (University of Warwick) will run a seminar on the work of Simone Weil entitled 'Intellectual Action as Scandal: The Libertarian Legacy of Simone Weil and the Limits of the Rhetorics of Safety'. The seminar will focus on Weil's 'Réflexions sur les causes de la liberté et de l'oppression sociale' (1934), in the English translation available in 'Oppression and Liberty'. There will be a short introductory lecture on Weil followed by time for discussion.
Dr Fabio Camilletti is an Associate Professor in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Warwick, where he specialises in nineteenth-century literature and culture from a comparative perspective (Italy, England, France, Germany).
