During our Rare Reads facsimile encounters we share beautifully accurate copies of some of our most famous objects. To coincide with Manchester’s Medieval Quarter Festival we look closely and discuss the copy of Rylands Beatus, Commentary on the Apocalypse from the 12th century. See the pages being turned and view up close this rare copy of a medieval manuscript.
The incredibly rare special collections housed within The John Rylands Research Institute and Library have made us a world-famous destination for researchers and those drawn to historic material.
Drop into the Reading Room. No booking required. Access information can be found on AccessAble https://www.accessable.co.uk/the-university-of-manchester/access-guides/john-rylands-research-institute-and-library
