Manchester Urban Ageing Film Screening
Join us at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation on Wednesday, 6 November at 2:00 PM for an afternoon of films about life in Manchester as we age. The Manchester Urban Ageing Film Screening will feature the following selection of thought-provoking films focusing on urban ageing:
o A selection of short films about ageing in Greater Manchester, co-produced by MaoHui Deng, Sophie Everest, and the Elders from the Royal Exchange (a participatory arts group run by the theatre aimed at older people)
o IN-CITU - A film about public transport co-produced with James Fletcher and passengers living with dementia
o Ageing in Place in Cities - A film by Joana Salles and Patty Doran on the Manchester Urban Aging Research Group
We hope the showcase will engage the community with the challenges and opportunities faced by older adults in urban environments and promote civic engagement.
The screening will be followed by a friendly Q&A that includes older individuals involved in the films. Tea and Coffee will be provided.
CONTENT WARNING: Some of the films will contain discussion of ableism, ageism, sexism, and racism.
