The University of Manchester Gateway Programme provides a new opportunity for Year 7-11 learners within Greater Manchester to participate in a coherent series of academic enrichment and Higher Education awareness activities.
The Y8 Familiarisation Visit will explore different courses to familiarise learners with the range of subjects offered by universities, which will be followed by curriculum taster sessions across STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths), Medical Human and Biological Sciences, and Humanities subject areas. These activities will provide an exciting, hands-on experience, combining teambuilding, problem solving and presentation skills. Learners are encouraged and supported by University students who provide positive role models for the pupils.
