A programme to celebrate the life and work of Ian Kemp (1931-2011), formerly Professor of Music in the University. Music by Tippett (Piano Sonata No. 2), Berlioz (choral music, including Le Ballet des Ombres, and Rêverie et Caprice for violin and piano), Hindemith (Viola Sonata Op. 11 No. 4), Ian Kemp himself (Fantasia and Carolling) and short tributes from composer colleagues from the various stages of his life and career (Raymond Warren, Anthony Gilbert, Raymond Dodd, Philip Wilby, Geoffrey Poole and Hugh Wood).
- Admission by ticket only, available FREE from the box office.
There will be a retiring collection to establish a scholarship at the University in memory of Ian Kemp.
