Sir Jeremy Heywood, Cabinet Secretary, in discussion with Manchester academics about the new approach to open policy making and policy careers in the Civil Service.
Description:
The Civil Service has long provided an opportunity for those interested in public policy to make a career in policy making and implementation. Recent reform initiatives are now aimed at supplementing this with ‘open’ policy making; more ‘evidence-based’ policy and outsourcing some policy work to universities and others.
This session will offer an opportunity to academic staff and postgraduate students to discuss these issues with Sir Jeremy.
