The development space is experiencing turbulent times, with practitioners under more pressure than ever to achieve great things, often with dwindling resources.
The institutions in which we conduct this work can significantly impact our ability to stay resilient in the face of challenges. While some people may feel their sense of identity or purpose is threatened in institutions that don’t share their values, others may long for safe spaces where they can voice their worries. So, how can we transform organisations that are resistant to change? Is it possible for practitioners to influence decision-makers within their organisations to embrace new initiatives and goals?
This session represents the second in a series of online communities of practice (CoPs) where practitioners can share concerns, ideas, feelings, and advice about building and maintaining resilience.
In the last session, we discussed personal resilience, a summary of which you can read on the GDI blog: https://blog.gdi.manchester.ac.uk/what-challenges-do-development-practitioners-face-when-developing-their-personal-resilience/
All are welcome to join the next session, whether or not you’ve joined a previous session. Do spread the word!
