2-4pm. Do you ever see ferns growing on walls in towns and wondered what they are and how they got there? Come along to this session and find out. The session will include an illustrated talk; an animated video on the Secret Life of Ferns; the opportunity to take a closer look at ferns under the microscope and grow your own plants from spores and weather permitting, a look at ferns growing on the walls of the Museum. The session will be led by Dr. Yvonne Golding, Secretary of The British Pteridological Society.
Urban Naturalist is a programme of friendly, practical workshops for adults run by leading naturalists. From wild food-foraging and composting to bird song and insect identification, explore biodiversity on our doorstep.
