Opportunities for international and global health work and funding have grown substantially. Manchester's Global health work is very broadly distributed and there has been a limited focus within the FMBH for this. Most grants require multi-disciplinarity and this includes colleagues from other faculties and divisions.
On February 27th, we will hold a internal partnering day focussed on translational research, public health, preventative strategies and vulnerable/disadvantaged populations, especially low middle income countries, and infection, respiratory, allergy, gut and skin diseases.
The idea is to forge new collaborative links across the faculty and with academics in other university departments. To that end we are looking for volunteers to present themselves and their current of desired international work in the briefest of formats. We also plan an afternoon of workshop open round tales to meet and discuss ideas with others on broad areas of possible interest (ie water, antimicrobial resistance, education and preventative strategies etc. The final program is still in development, and will come out about 2 weeks before the meeting.
9:30 to 5:00, followed by drinks for informal discussions, MIB, Princess St, Manchester M1 7DN
