Nadia Farage graduated in Social Sciences from the State University of Campinas (1980), and has a master's degree in Social Anthropology from the State University of Campinas (1986) and a doctorate in Literature (Comparative Studies in Portuguese Language Literature) from the University of São Paulo (1997 ). She was a visiting Research Student in the Department of Anthropology at the London School of Economics (1991) and a Fellow (1996) and Visiting Professor (2011; 2013) at the Centre for Amerindian, Latin American and Caribbean Studies in the University of St. Andrews. She is a collaborative professor in the Department of Anthropology, Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences, in the State University of Campinas. She pursues two lines of research: ethnology; and Indigenous history and nature, culture and technology.
