Psychedelics in Scotland: A film screening and panel discussion
Join us for an enlightening film screening and panel talk on the healing benefits of psychedelic drugs. Part of the Criminology Department Racial and Social Justice Seminar Series.
Psychedelics in Scotland is a film screening and panel discussion with Dr Anna Ross, University of Edinburgh; Fiona Gilbertson, Recovering Justice; Dr Jake Hawthorn, Scottish Psychedelic Research Group; and Karen Llewellyn, Families Campaign for Change and Recovering Justice.
At our first event, we will watch the 45 minute documentary film, Psychedelics in Scotland, produced by Drugreporter, on the struggle to liberate psychedelic medicine in Scotland. In the film, people with lived experience provide testimony on the healing powers of psychedelic drugs. The screening will be followed by a discussion with a panel who appeared in the film. They will talk about the value of psychedelics for healing a variety of conditions, the benefits of creating a space in which people can openly talk about their experiences with psychedelics, and how we can change the narrative around psychedelic substances. Students will chair the panel discussion and the audience will be invited to ask questions.
