Non Manual Intervening and Without Power Outage Method of Icing Disaster Prevention and Its Application Prospect in Grids The abstract:In 2008, there was a severe icing disaster in southern part of China (13 provinces which covers two-thirds of China) and this disaster caused a direct economic loss to power companies over 20 billion USD. Since 2008, DC Ice-melting Apparatuses have developed, and there are hundreds of them to be installed at substations in China. And Since 2009, thousands of ice-melting practices with DC apparatuses to have been carrying in Chinese grids. But it is not difficult to find that Ice-melting with DC ice-melting apparatus also has a lot of disadvantages from a long-term development perspective. It is necessary to develop some kind of non-intervening without power outage methods to avoid ice disasters. In this presentation, several new methods with non-manual intervening and without power outage method of icing disaster prevention will be introduced, and their application prospects in Power Grids will be analyzed.
