The University of Manchester Bicycle Users' Group has reached 1000 members! We will be celebrating being the biggest and best University BUG in the UK and all 1000 UMBUG members are invited. We've come a long way since 2007 (with a long way to go) and this event is a great opportunity to showcase our huge membership, variety of cyclists and to get to know each other a little better. At 4:30pm prompt we want to fill the area outside University Place with a sea of cyclists and celebrate our 1000th member. A professional photographer will be on hand to capture this fantastic image and there will be refreshments, speakers and entertainment too. If you only go to one cycling event this year, please make it this one.
The celebrations will continue at the Old Abbey Inn at the Science Park (Pencroft Way) from 5.30pm. Doors will open especially for UMBUG members and it would be great to see you all there to relax and share our great achievement. If you can't get out of work until later feel free to head straight to the Abbey.
