It is our pleasure to welcome Lawyer Maroof Mittha who will be giving a seminar on Hinkley Point C from a legal perspective.

Maroof has recently completed his LLM in International Energy Law and Policy from the Centre for Energy Petroleum Minerals Law and Policy, University of Dundee. Earlier to this he has practised as a commercial and corporate lawyer. He is deeply invested in legal and policy developments in nuclear energy.

In this talk he will cover: 1. Euratom and Atoms for Peace 2. Euratom Treaty - Obligations 3. Treaty for Functioning of EU – Energy Policy and obligations 4. Landmark cases for civil nuclear activity 5. Hinkley Point C (HPC) – Facts and judgment (relevant excerpts) 6. Outcome of HPC 7. Current legal developments in EU and UK (post-Brexit)
