On Thursday,9 November 2017 the School of Law will host one of this year's Hamlyn Lectures, to be delivered by
Professor Andrew Burrows
Professor Burrows will speak on "The Interaction between Common Law and Statute."
This lecture will be held in the Whitworth Hall, beginning at 6pm and will be preceeded by a drinks reception from 5pm - 6pm in University Place
(directly opposite the Whitworth Hall on Oxford Road), to which all attendees are invited.
The Hamlyn Trust was created by Miss Emma Hamlyn in memory of her father, a solicitor and Justice of the Peace in Torquay, Devon, England.
The object of the Trust is to further knowledge and understanding of the law.
